Illinois Tech Assistant Professor Speaks on Risks Associated with 5G Network

Maurice Dawson, the director of Illinois Institute of Technology’s Center for Cyber Security and Forensics Education, spoke on the security risks that could be affiliated with the instillation of the 5G network in a segment that aired on Monday, May 20, on Chicago’s ABC affiliate WLS.

The segment titled “5G network security risks could accompany innovation when Chicago devices upgrade, experts say” featured Dawson, who is also an assistant professor of information technology and management in Illinois Tech’s School of Applied Technology, speaking on how 5G technology could be particularly susceptible and inviting targets for attackers.
