ITM graduate students Ankith Jain and Chetan Munegowda win 3rd place in the Campus 1871 competition

Congrats to ITM graduate students, Ankith Jain and Chetan Munegowda, who won 3rd place in the Campus 1871 competition. Several other Illinois Tech students also earned top 3 placement.

Campus 1871 is a weekend-long (April 8-10) collaborative cross-campus initiative between 1871, Illinois Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, The University of Illinois at Chicago, DeVry University, Loyola University Chicago, and The University of Chicago. 140 students (20 from each university) meet at 1871 for a free weekend-long event to create their own startups with like-minded university students.

Description: A platform that matches black women with black hair stylists
IIT student: Zuri McClelland (grad, BME)

2nd Place: ChiDates
Description: A video-based dating service targeting the Indian population
IIT students: Sunny Shah (ugrad, LEWIS), Ricky Leavell (ugrad, CHENG)

3rd Place (tie): AnySpace
Description: A platform to match organizations with available space to those that need space
IIT students: Peter Rigali (ugrad, ARCH), Ray Bizauskas (ugrad, SSB), Patrick Bartman (ugrad, ECE)

3rd Place (tie): EquipMe
Description: A platform for helping disabled people find medical equipment and goods
IIT students: Ankith Jain (grad, ITM), Chetan Munegowda (grad, ITM)
