Odebrecht Organization Seeks Entries for Sustainable Development Award

Date

The Odebrecht Organization recognizes the importance of integrating sustainability into the core of their business. In 2012 they launched the United States edition of their Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development to invite university students to help develop innovative methods or technology that promote sustainable and responsible development. This is a great opportunity to influence how engineering can change the world.

The Award is designed to encourage contributions to sustainable development for the benefit of engineering, construction, chemical, and petrochemical organizations; the academic community; and society as a whole. Whether related to new building techniques, new chemical and petrochemical processes, alternative environmental uses or sustainable materials, projects should explore innovative practices, methods and ideas that can be implemented in a variety of real-world ventures.

In order to compete, students must submit a paper on engineering contributions to sustainable development. Students may work individually, or in groups, under the supervision of an Advising Professor. Please refer to the Official Guidelines for details. The application period ends May 31, 2015 at midnight EST.
