Political science alumna Kunoor Ojha hired by Clinton campaign

Date

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has hired Illinois Tech alumna Kunoor Ojha (PS ’13) as the new national campus and student organizing director. Ojha previously worked for the Bernie Sanders campaign as the director of student organizing. According to Poltico, Ojha is the Clinton campaign’s first major hire from the Sanders campaign.

Ojha brings extensive campaign experience to her new role. While she was a student at Illinois Tech, she worked as a field organizer for President Obama’s second presidential campaign. After graduation, she served as a regional field director for Yes for Independent Maps, a campaign focused on reforming the legislative district map-drawing process in Illinois. Prior to joining the Sanders campaign, she was a field director for the Bill Hughes Jr. congressional campaign in New Jersey.

As a student, Ojha was a very active member of the Illinois Tech community. She served as vice president and president of IIT Feminist United, participated in Habitat for Humanity, and worked as a student DJ at WIIT.

The news of Ojha's hiring was featured in many national media outlets, including Washington Monthly, CNN, Business Insider, and CBS to name a few.
