Professors Weslynne Ashton and Nasrin Khalili Host International Partners for HED Grant

IIT Stuart School of Business hosted the Pathways to Cleaner Production in the Americas annual meeting and workshop from August 5-9, 2013. Assistant Professor Weslynne Ashton and Associate Professor Nasrin Khalili welcomed international partners from six countries and nine partner organizations for a week of meetings, workshops, and activities around Chicago.

Attendees included representatives from Higher Education for Development (HED) and administrators from partner organizations throughout the U.S., Latin, and Central America. This three-year higher education partnership is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, through Higher Education for Development (HED). The partnership falls under the U.S. Department of State’s “Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas” initiative that links Western Hemisphere countries committed to democracy and open markets to promote inclusive growth, prosperity, and social justice.
