Psychology students raise more than $1,800 for suicide prevention

Date

On Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, a team of 21 participants from IIT’s Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling student chapter of The American Rehabilitation Counseling Association joined the Out of the Darkness walk put on by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. As a team, they raised $1836.00, with their top fundraiser, Lauren Ruben, raising $661 on her own, achieving the “Red Ribbon Walker” for the event.

After such success, they plan to make this an annual event getting students, alumni and friends involved. Look forward to hearing more next year.
