SAT Assistant Professor Researches Intersection of Technology and Teaching

Date

The intersection of technology and teaching continues to grow, and Illinois Institute of Technology Assistant Professor of Information Technology and Management Maurice Dawson recently explored how virtual programs could be utilized as a tool in higher education.

Dawson, along with co-authors Latina Davis (Morgan State University) and Marwan Omar (Saint Leo University), researched how 3D and simulation programs like Second Life, Open Simulator, and Lumiya might be used, according to industry guidelines, in an engineering class to provide a dynamic learning environment in their paper, “Developing Learning Objects for Engineering and Science Fields: Using Technology to Test System Usability and Interface Design,” published in Volume 1, Issue 2 of the International Journal of Smart Technology and Learning.
