Human Resources (Minor)

The Minor in Human Resources is offered by the Department of Psychology and enhances a student's potential for professional development in a number of fields.

In a rapidly changing workplace, professionals with expertise in managing human resources will be essential for the success of organizations dealing with advances in technology and an increasingly diverse workforce. The human resources minor prepares students to understand human behavior and effectiveness at work, manage change and promote productivity, cultivate effective leadership, and use statistical modeling to inform data-based decisions. This minor covers critical human resource functions including employee selection, training and development, performance management, and promoting wellbeing in the workplace. It also provides essential knowledge and skills for the growing field of human resources management, as well students seeking management positions in their profession.

Minors consist of at least five courses (minimum 15 semester hours) and are optional and frequently cross-disciplinary.
