Visiting and Non-Degree-Seeking Students

Students interested in taking undergraduate or graduate-level courses at Illinois Tech without earning a degree are invited to apply through the Office of Admission.

Undergraduate-Level Courses

Non-degree applicants to undergraduate-level courses will need to submit unofficial transcripts as evidence that you have met prerequisites for the courses that you wish to take. We encourage you to use Transferology, a nationwide, online transfer-planning resource, to identify which courses transfer to your home institution.

Graduate-Level Courses and Certificates

Illinois Tech requires a four-year bachelor’s degree conferred with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution for admission as a non-degree student.

Summer Research Opportunities

Illinois Tech offers summer research opportunities for credit in engineering, science, and business for both undergraduate and graduate students. Summer research opportunities allow you to work alongside faculty on fascinating projects and can help you explore your interests-- both in academia and industry. Summer research projects are offered in-person and online, depending on the project.
