Visiting and Non-Degree-Seeking Students
Study at Illinois Tech among a diverse student body in one of the world’s greatest cities—Chicago!
Students interested in taking undergraduate or graduate-level courses at Illinois Tech without earning a degree are invited to apply through the Office of Admission.
Non-degree applicants to undergraduate-level courses will need to submit unofficial transcripts as evidence that you have met prerequisites for the courses that you wish to take. We encourage you to use Transferology, a nationwide, online transfer-planning resource, to identify which courses transfer to your home institution.
Simply register for an account at Transferology to access our transfer guides.

Summer Research Opportunities
Summer research opportunities allow you to work alongside faculty and graduate students on fascinating projects. For some students, conducting research early in their academic career is an important step in determining whether to pursue graduate school or a career in either academia or industry. Research experience can also help students decide whether their specific academic course is right for them.
Illinois Tech offers four- and eight-week summer research opportunities for credit in engineering, science, and business.
All domestic and four-week visiting international students should apply by March 29, 2020. International visiting students who wish to take the eight-week session should apply by February 23, 2020. Applications received after these dates may be considered on a case-by-case basis, space permitting.
Questions about the summer research opportunities? Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 312.567.3849.
As a visiting student at Illinois Tech, you must be enrolled at another university to take advantage of the four- and eight-week summer research opportunities. All visiting students must apply first.
For step-by-step instructions on how to apply, view the instructions below.
- Click on the Apply Now button in the upper right-hand corner of the summer research program you are interested in
