The newest academic building on Mies Campus, the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship is home to the renowned Institute of Design, maker spaces, the university’s signature academic program, and the team that instills the entrepreneurial mindset into each Illinois Tech student—plus, its sustainable design is award-winning, too! Kaplan is the home base of the Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program, which brings together students from across majors to solve real-world problems. It’s also where our students go to ideate, create, and launch startup businesses—a one-stop shop for innovation!
