Every gift to Illinois Tech makes a difference to the university and has an impact on Illinois Tech's success. With gratitude for all gifts and respect for all donors, the university will abide by the following guidelines.
- We will acknowledge all gifts in a timely manner.
- If we accept a contribution with a restricted purpose, the university will use it for that purpose.
- If the university is unable to use a contribution for its stated purpose, we will communicate that to the donor so we can arrange an alternative use or return the contribution.
- We will communicate the impact of philanthropy every year.
- We will recognize all donors appropriately; before doing so publicly, we will secure the donor’s approval.
- We will account for contributions using universally accepted accounting standards allowing for maximum efficiency and productivity of each gift.
