The Department of Computer Science at the College of Computing at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago invites applications for multiple tenure-track, tenured, and teaching faculty positions. The department is seeking candidates at all ranks and in all areas as part of the university’s strategic plan, seeking to ambitiously grow its faculty and its impact during the coming years.

The Department of Computer Science offers bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence, a master’s degree in Cybersecurity, and interdisciplinary master’s degrees in Data Science and Computational Decision Science and Operations Research. It boasts a wide range of cutting-edge funded research activity, as well as multiple externally-funded research faculty positions. The department’s graduate program in CS is ranked #83 by the 2023-2024 US News & World Report and is on an upward trajectory.

Applicants for tenure-track and tenured positions must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field at the start of the appointment and should have demonstrated significant research accomplishment and commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants for teaching faculty positions must have a minimum of M.S. or equivalent (Ph.D. is strongly preferred) in computer science or a closely related field at the start of the appointment and should demonstrate dedication and commitment to student success and educational innovation.

The one-page statement on equity and inclusion should address specific past and/or potential contributions to the equitable and inclusive delivery of academic instruction and support to students from diverse backgrounds, including, without limitation, individuals of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, cultures, sexual orientations, and socio-economic conditions.
