Lulu Kang and Dietmar Rempfer (joint appointment with MMAE) won a WISER (Wagner Institute for Sustainable Energy Research) Program Award for their proposal "Optimal Placement of Wind Turbines for Wind Farm."

They are one of three teams who received the award from IIT’s WISER 2013 Interdisciplinary Seed Funding Grants (ISFG) of nine proposals submitted. The ISFG program is designed to provide funding for a one-year period to support research concepts that are expected to attract major external funding in areas of national interest related to energy and sustainability.
