CAEE Advisory Board Member Cecil Lue-Hing Named Recipient of Stanley E. Kappe Award by AAEES

Cecil Lue-Hing, Advisory Board Member of the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Department at Armour College of Engineering, was named the recipient of the 2016 Stanley E. Kappe Award by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers & Scientists (AAEES). He will be awarded at the 2016 Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science Awards Luncheon and Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. on April 14.

The award honors former AAEES Executive Director Stanley E. Kappe, whose dedicated leadership, strong devotion, and tireless efforts contributed to the growth and advancement of the organization. It is presented annually to a Board Certified Environmental Engineer or Board Certification Environmental Scientist who has performed extraordinary and outstanding service contributing to significant advancement of public awareness to the betterment of the total environment and other objectives to the Academy.

Lue-Hing has served as director of research and development for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago; president of the governing board for the Environmental and Water Resources Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers; and president of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. He was appointed by the mayor of Atlanta to a nine-member independent council on the city’s Clean Water Plan, and is currently president of Cecil Lue-Hing & Associates, an environmental engineering consulting firm.
