Extended Deadline: Win $25K in the NAE E4U Video Contest

The Armour College of Engineering invites proposals for student-led projects to participate in the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Engineering for You (E4U) Video Contest. This is a national competition with a prize of $25,000. Contest rules can be found at: http://www.e4uvideocontest.org The core of this competition is “how engineering creations serve the welfare of humanity and the needs of society” fits well within the mission of the IIT Engineering Themes program. Armour College is looking for student/faculty teams to represent IIT in this contest. Support will be provided to the most meritorious proposal for a video to enter this competition. Participation in these activities will be recognized in a student’s Engineering Portfolio.

Submission and Deadlines:
Proposals should be submitted via email to engineering@iit.edu. The email should include the subject line “NAE E4U Video Application”.

The application has two steps:

  • “Intent” to participate including a brief description of your idea should be submitted by February 3, 2014.
  • To be considered for assistance and funding, your proposal application, including full description of your idea and plan for the video is due on February 15, 2014. (Submission Deadline to NAE March 31, 2014).
  • Proposal Application Format (Sections to be Included):

  • Cover page – The cover page should include:
    • Title of proposed video
    • List team members with contact information, year, and major
    • List of Faculty/Staff members of the team (if any)
    • List student organizations involved with contact information
    • Resource Support requested (if any)
  • Summary of Planned Content and Area of Emphasis in the Video

  • Resources (1 page maximum) An itemized description of anticipated resources should be provided. This may include financial support, workspace, materials & supplies, A/V technical support, etc. All requested needs full justification.

  • Required Format:
    Arial 11 font, 1-inch margins on all sides, single-spaced.
