ITM Hires 4 New Faculty

The ITM Department is pleased to introduce four new adjunct faculty members who will be joining us for the Spring 2014 term. The ITM Department is pleased to introduce four new adjunct faculty members who will be joining us for the Spring 2014 term.

  • Dr. Boris Lublinsky is a Principal Architect with Nokia, where he sets architectural direction, conducts architecture assessments and creates and executes architectural roadmaps including Big Data (Hadoop-based) solutions, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). He is the co-author of Applied SOA: Service-Oriented Architecture and Design Strategies and Professional Hadoop Solutions. Dr. Lublinsky will be teaching ITMD 469/569, Big Data, and the text for the course will be his book Professional Hadoop Solutions. He earned his PhD at the Polytechnic Institute, Leningrad, Russia.
  • Jesse Kulp is a Senior UX (User Experience) Architect at Critical Mass, where he has been responsible for the creation of compelling customer experiences across mobile, tablet and desktop platforms for clients such as United, HP, and AT&T. Jesse will be teaching ITMD 434/534, Human Computer Interaction. He earned his MS at New York University and his JD at Yeshiva University.
  • John Owrey is an IT educator who has previously served in a variety of professional IT positions in industry and at the University of Illinois at Chicago, culminating as the Executive Director of Information Technology for the UIC College of Pharmacy. John will be teaching ITM 301, Introduction to Operating Systems and Hardware I (CompTIA A+). John earned an MS at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an EdM in Curriculum, Instruction and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
  • Shawn Davis is a Computer Forensic Investigator with the Edelson PC law firm, and previously was an Information Protection Specialist working as a Network Security Analyst at Motorola Solutions. He will be teaching ITMO 456 Open Source Operating Systems (Linux+) this term, and we expect him to be teaching more security-related courses in the future. He earned his MITM with a specialization in Computer and Network Security at IIT, and has a Bachelor of Music specializing in Jazz Performance (Percussion) from Northern Illinois University.
