MSED Graduate Gary Holliday Receives 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of Akron

IIT alumnus Gary Holliday (MSED ’11) received the 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Akron. Holliday is an assistant professor, curricular and instructional studies, College of Education. The award, presented at the university’s Distinguished Alumni and Faculty Awards ceremony, requires documented evidence of teaching excellence as reflected in its impact on student learning and success. Holliday was one of only two recipients of the award this year.

Holliday earned his PhD in Science Education from IIT in 2011. While earning his degree, he demonstrated his long term commitment to science education by serving as a high school science teacher at Perspectives/IIT Math and Science Academy in Chicago. Congratulations Gary!
