Patrick Corrigan named inaugural editor of new journal

Distinguished Professor of Psychology Patrick Corrigan has been named the inaugural editor of the new American Psychological Association (APA) journal, Stigma and Health. Produced quarterly, the journal will publish peer-reviewed, original research articles examining stigma and its impacts on people living with mental and physical illness.

Corrigan is an internationally-recognized expert in research related to serious mental illness, health disparities, and stigma.  Specifically, his work extends the focus of traditional psychiatric rehabilitation to examine the stereotypes held by the community and those living with serious mental illness, and investigate the role of ethnic disparities in undermining rehabilitation.
