The EPA in Chicago, IL will be advertising vacancies for a GS-0399-4/5 Student Trainee (Office Automation) in the Water Division and other offices. The positions are either part-time or full-time. The announcement, CI-R5-OT-2014-0001 will be open to the first 75 applicants from 4/14/2014 – 4/18/2014.

Who May Apply: Individuals who are enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment seeking a diploma, certificate, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or professional degree from a qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis, including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program.

Position Duties & Responsibilities: Utilize the features and capabilities of Microsoft Word to type drafts/finals versions of regular and complex correspondence, memoranda, reports, forms, questionnaires, charts and records pertaining to the Office. Receive telephone calls and visitors for the Office. Route incoming mail and visitors to the appropriate staff. Provide answers to routine, non-technical requests. Prepare outgoing correspondence and material. Review correspondence for format, clarity, accuracy, conformance with procedural instructions, appropriate signatures and attachments are prepared and included. Prepare biweekly time and attendance reports, travel authorizations and vouchers. Arrange travel for office staff. Procure supplies, equipment, printing and maintenance services for the Office.
