Ye Accepts Postdoc at Syracuse University

Qi Ye, Ph.D. candidate in applied mathematics, has accepted a two-year Philip T. Church postdoctoral position in the department of mathematics at Syracuse University, where he will be teaching and conducting research with Professors Lixin Shen and Yuesheng Xu on problems in computational harmonic analysis.

Ye is completing his Ph.D. at IIT under the supervision of Greg Fasshauer, professor of applied mathematics. His thesis draws together ideas from approximation theory, numerical computation, stochastic analysis, and statistical learning. Last year, he served as the president of the Society for Industry and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), and led the chapter in hosting its first conference.
