The Office of the Vice Provost wants to hear from students who are interested in working with other students, faculty, and staff on programming ideas and initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Do you have ideas that will educate our community about inclusion? How about thoughts on best practices to ensure Illinois Tech is on the cutting edge of initiatives surrounding diversity and inclusion? If you answered “yes” please consider being a part of the group.
The purpose of the Student Diversity Advisory Council is to:
- Partner with students to create a more diverse and welcoming campus environment.
- Create opportunities for students from different backgrounds to discuss issues related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Illinois Tech.
- Share and explore ideas, thoughts, and possible solutions and intervention strategies for concerning behavior that impact student success.
The Student Diversity Advisory Council is composed of student leaders representing Illinois Institute of Technology’s diverse student population. This group is led by Raul Fernandez, Assistant Director for Community Standards and meets regularly to discuss and identify issues happening on campus, advocate for resources, and promote initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programming and training.
