Alex Dolinar says graduate studies preparation for professional health school goes beyond academics
Alexander Dolinar (M.S. BHPR ’20)Alex Dolinar says he enrolled in Illinois Tech’s Master of Science in Biology for the Health Professions with the intention of preparing for dental school.
“I chose to enroll at Illinois Tech because the biology curriculum is centered around the health professions,” Alex says. “The coursework is similar to what I will see in my first year of dental school.”
Alex says his adviser, Kathryn Spink, not only made sure he was prepared for dental school academically, but also for the admissions process. Alexander says his adviser alerted him to American Dental Education Association application webinars, pre-dental fairs, and a variety of other resources.
“I felt fully prepared for my admissions committee interviews because of the mock interview she organized with the Illinois Tech career services department and other faculty,” he says.
