Program Overview

Dive into data science beginning on your first day on campus in our B.S. in Data Science program. Project-based learning is integrated into your coursework, allowing you to take on challenging data science assignments as part of teams, developing both your portfolio and collaboration skills. You’ll explore data as part of topics including data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence and be led by industry-experienced faculty who offer personalized guidance to help you in the classroom and to build the path toward the data science career you seek. Plus, you’ll immerse yourself in Chicago’s thriving tech ecosystem by attending workshops, hackathons, and conferences to expand your network and knowledge.

DS 151 Introduction to Data Science This course provides a foundational understanding of statistics and data visualization, with practical application using Python programming.

DS 451 Data Science Life Cycle You’ll learn about the complete data science workflow, from problem identification and data exploration to ethical considerations and communication of solutions.

DS 480 Data Science Projects A capstone course where you will collaborate on real-world projects, applying your knowledge to solve data-driven challenges in business, government, or industry.
