Summer 2022 Parking Permit Options

A valid parking permit is required to park on campus during Summer 2022. Permits are available online for purchase via MyParking. Parking citations must be paid or appealed to purchase a new permit.

Permit Options

Summer permits will be available for purchase by sessions. Permits will allow access to park in Flex lots and Resident lots (for residents students only) on campus. Refer to the campus parking map for specific lot locations.

Permits will be linked to the primary vehicle plate number. Please add alternate vehicles as needed. No physical permits will be issued.


Refunds for summer parking permits may ONLY be requested prior to the permit effective date. Summer permits cannot be cancelled/refunded after the effective date of the permit.

Introducing Mobile Pay for Visitor Parking

Access, Card, and Parking Services is pleased to now offer Mobile Pay for Mies campus visitor parking. Mobile Pay, powered by Text2Park,  conveniently allows parkers to purchase visitor parking fast using their mobile phone. Parkers are encouraged to become familiar with utilizing Mobile Pay, as this platform will replace the legacy campus visitor pay stations effective January 3, 2022.

Mobile Pay is available for immediate use in the following Mies Campus Locations:

Lot A4 (MTCC)- Lot Code- ILTECHA4

Lot A6 (MSV)- Lot Code- ILTECHA6

Lot B4 (Kaplan)- Lot Code- ILTECHB4

Lot B5 (Hermann Hall)- Lot Code- ILTECHB5

Lot D4 (Galvin Tower)- Lot Code- ILTECHD4

To use Mobile Pay:

  1. Look for the signs with the lot code or QR Code for the location.
  2. Text lot code where your vehicle is located to 25023 OR scan Mobile Pay QR Code using your mobile phone.
  3. Click the link and enter your license plate number and payment information. 
  4. Park your vehicle and proceed to your campus destination.

You will receive an invitation by text to add more time if needed (15) minutes before your parking session expires.

Additional Mobile Pay Information:

A $0.50 cent convenience fee will apply to all transactions.

If you don’t have the specific lot code available, you may text our global campus code, ILTECH to 25023. A link will be provided with a map including our campus locations for you to select. Location services must be enabled on your mobile device to use this feature.

The UPass will be issued to all ELIGIBLE FULL-TIME STUDENTS (Grad students - 9 billable academic hours, Undergrad students -12 billable academic hours) for Spring 2022. 

A COVID provision, offered by the CTA, to allow full-time students the opportunity to opt-out of the program has been extended for the Spring 2022 semester. 

All eligible full-time students that do not wish to participate in the program should complete the Spring 2022 UPASS OPT-OUT FORMYou must complete this OPT-OUT form by February 1, 2022 to ensure your student account will not be charged the $155 fee.

*Note: The UPass fee will not be removed from your student account bill until after the February 1 add/drop deadline. Student accounting has advised students to pay their balance minus the $155 UPass fee. If the fee is not removed after February 1, please contact Student Accounting at

Mies Campus Returning Students

  • UPasses are scheduled to activate on Saturday, January 8. If you are registered full time, do not have a negative balance on your Ventra account, and your UPass is not activated, please email the ACAPS Office at Eligible UPass activation requests will be updated within one business day.
  • UPass accounts with a negative balance will not activate until funds are added to satisfy the outstanding balance. Please check your account balance through the Ventra app or on the Ventra website prior to January 8.

Students New To Illinois Tech Spring 2022

  • Students who are registered for full-time academic hours (Grad students - 9 billable academic hours, Undergrad students -12 billable academic hours) will receive a UPass.
  • New students must have a submitted HawkCard photo uploaded online in order to receive a UPass.
    • Please note- UPass pickup will be delayed 1-2 weeks for any HawkCard photo submitted online after January 1.
  • UPass Pickup Dates: UPass distribution will begin on January 6. Students will receive an email from when their UPass is ready for pickup.
    • Pickup location and times - MTCC mailroom - Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • Special Pickup Date and time -  Sunday, January 9 at the MTCC Welcome Desk from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    • A form of identification must be presented at pickup

How to Reach Access, Card, and Parking Services

Access, Card, and Parking Services are available through a combination of online and walk-in customer service. Please refer to the guide below to determine how to reach us based on your service need.

HawkCard IDs

MyHawkCard - Online photo submission is required for all new students, faculty, and staff of the university. Visit the online photo submission webpage for more information. Pickup will be available at the MTCC mailroom Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (1) business day after photo is accepted. Please also use MyHawkCard to confirm your meal plan, add TechCash, or mark your HawkCard lost or found if needed.

ACaPS Store - Online payments are required for all replacement HawkCard IDs. Pickup will be available at the MTCC mailroom Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (1) business day after payment is received. TechCash deposits can also be made via the ACaPS store via electronic check payment. These deposits will be processed within (1) business day.

Access Requests & Support

Requests for HawkCard access to additional areas should be directed to by an administrator of the requested location. All requests are subject to review and approval. Additional area access requests will generally receive an initial response within (1) business day.

Ventra UPass

Student Ventra UPass pickup is available at the MTCC mailroom, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. Online payment is required for all replacement UPasses. Pickup for replacement cards will be available within one week after payment is received.


MyParking - Parking registration is open for students, faculty, staff, and tenants of the university. Online permits will be linked to registered vehicles immediately. Semester, academic, and annual permits will be mailed to the address on record within 10 business days of purchase.


Appeals- Email within (7) days of the citation issue date. The email should include the appeal grounds and a brief, general explanation. More information regarding appeal grounds can be found here.

Payments- Parking citations must be paid online through MyParking within (7) days of the citation issue date.
