Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

In high school, I became very passionate about working in medicine. I've always been interested in engineering and biomedical engineering seemed the best path to be able to enact real change and help people through healthcare technology. After graduation, I'd like to work in prosthetics or drug delivery systems.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

I've really enjoyed getting to meet so many interesting people passionate about their fields.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

In 20 years I see myself working in research on developing medical technology and improving its accessibility.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camas Scholar?

Since high school I've been passionate about healthcare and giving back to my local community. I individually hosted a food drive at my school for a local women's shelter. I volunteered weekly at Children's Hospital Colorado. I founded my high school's current HOSA chapter along with our school nurse. Members of our chapter competed at HOSA International, and I was recognized for service at the state competition.
