Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

I have always been interested in engineering. Aerospace has an exciting future in society that could change the way we all live. I'd like to work in the spacecraft industry, using my degree in work, personal research, and creation.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

The Camras Scholars Program provides tons of support to students who want to make an impact during their time at IIT. From project start-up to end there are so many unique resources provided by the Camras Scholars Program.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

In 20 years I hope to have traveled a lot. I hope that I have already had many different types of jobs that challenged me in engineering innovation and creativity.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camas Scholar?

During my own research project in 2022, I learned that the absence of female, STEM-focused protagonists in children's books may be linked to the lack of young women in STEM and confidence relating to STEM. Soon after the GI STEM book drive was created. Through my high school's help, I started a fundraiser within my district to purchase children's books with female, STEM-focused protagonists and donated them to elementary schools within the area.
