Mies Campus Spring 2023 Internship Application Opens on Handshake

Processing Begins for Spring 2023 Experiential Learning Placements

This is when reviews will begin for applications submitted in Handshake.  Please note!  CRNs will not be distributed until November 7th, the start of course registration.

First Date to Submit Completed CPT Forms to the International Center in the ISSS Portal

Tuesday, November 8

This is when the International Center will start reviewing completed CPT applications.  Students must be registered for an internship course at the time of submission.

Handshake Application Submission Deadline

Monday, November 21

Students who want to continue their internships from Fall into Spring without a gap must submit their Handshake application by this date.

CPT Form Submission Deadline to Guarantee a December 19 Start Date

Wednesday, December 7

CPT Forms must be submitted to the International Center via the ISSS Portal by 5pm on this date to guarantee a December 19 start date

First Start Date for Continuing Experiences

Monday, December 19

International students must have their I-20 and Social Security Number (SSN) application receipt in their possession before they begin working. All students must have approved forms and be registered for the appropriate internship course to begin working.

Final Date to Being Working for For-Credit FT/PT Internship Experiences

This is the last day to begin work to complete the required minimum time length of 4 weeks for a non-credit internship.

Internships Must End During This Period

Students completing a for-credit internship must end their internship during this window of time.  Experiences can be extended into the summer, but a new application for Summer 2023 must be completed.  Dates and details for Summer 2023 will be posted in March/April 2023.

International students must submit Curricular Practical Training (CPT) forms and offer letters, with position descriptions, to the International Center by 5 p.m. on this date to guarantee a start date of Monday, August 15 and avoid a break between summer and fall.
