Experiential Learning—Summer 2022 (May 16–August 13)

Mies Application Opens on Handshake

Processing Begins for Summer 2022 Experiential Learning Placements

International students can submit their Curricular Practical Training (CPT) forms and offer letters, with position descriptions, to the International Center to obtain a new I-20. New I-20s take seven business days to be generated.

International students must submit Curricular Practical Training (CPT) forms and offer letters, with position descriptions, to the International Center by 5 p.m. on this date to guarantee a start of Monday, May 16th.

Full/Part-Time for-Credit Internships—Final Date to Submit Approved Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Form to International Center

Friday, May 13

This is a hard deadline. International students must submit Curricular Practical Training (CPT) forms and offer letters, with position descriptions, to the International Center by 5 p.m. on this date to receive administrative credit for their internships.

Earliest Date to Start Working

Monday, May 16

International students must have their Curricular Practical Training (CPT) I-20 and Social Security Number (SSN) application receipt in their possession before they begin working. All students must have their internships approved in Handshake and be registered for the appropriate internship course to begin working.

Add/Drop Deadline

Wednesday, May 25

Students must be registered for a for-credit internship by this date. After this date, students will not receive administrative credit for their internships.

Full-/Part-Time For-Credit Internships—Final Date to Begin Work

Wednesday, May 25

Students registered for full/part-time for-credit internships must begin work by this date.

Continuing Internships Only—Submission Deadline to Guarantee December 22 Start Date

International students who will be extending their fall internship into the spring term must submit Curricular Practical Training (CPT) forms and offer letters, with position descriptions, to the International Center by 5 p.m. on this date to guarantee a start date of Wednesday, December 22.
