The 2022–2023 Illinois Tech Commencement will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

Faculty Commencement Instructions

Illinois Institute of Technology’s annual Commencement Ceremony is a time for faculty to celebrate the accomplishments of Illinois Tech students. Faculty not only educate, but also inspire our students—both during our students' time at the university and throughout their lives.

The deadline to RSVP for the Commencement Ceremony is March 31, 2023.

Commencement Day Instructions

Robing

All faculty and staff should report for robing at McCormick Place on the morning of Commencement, Saturday, May 13, at 7:30 a.m.

A continental breakfast will be served.

If you are not attending the Main Ceremony, you still must pick up your robe prior to attending your College Ceremony.

The faculty procession for the Main Ceremony will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

NOTE: The Main Ceremony will take place in McCormick Place, Hall B.

At the end of the Commencement ceremonies on May 13, faculty must return their regalia. For faculty participating in the first College Ceremony, the return location will be the reception area. For faculty participating in the second College Ceremony, the return will be backstage in the robing area.

Ph.D. Hooding

Ph.D. hooding will take place during the College Ceremonies. For any questions you have regarding the Ph.D. hooding, please contact Jonathan Harmon via email at jharmon4@iit.edu.
