Armour College of Engineering’s AMP-X program allows you to apply up to nine credit hours from your undergraduate institution toward a master’s degree program at Illinois Tech, providing a streamlined approach that allows you to complete a master’s program in just one year.
Please note: To receive the up to nine credit hours, the transferring credits must be graduate-level equivalent courses from an ABET-accredited program and are subject to the approval of Illinois Tech.
Eligibility
- Your undergraduate degree must be in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering, computer science, or applied science program
- You must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.3/4.0 (or equivalent academic performance)
- You will need to provide a faculty or departmental recommendation from your undergraduate university
- You must be admitted to a master’s degree program at Illinois Tech’s Armour College of Engineering through the standard application process
To be accepted as advanced standing toward an Illinois Tech master’s degree, courses that were completed as part of your bachelor’s degree must be graduate-level coursework (typically 400- or 500-level equivalents) and must be approved by the Illinois Tech graduate program director. Courses must have been completed with a grade of B or higher and not applied toward any other graduate degree.
