Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) aims to provide its students, faculty and staff with an environment of collegiality, research and scholarship. IIT also strives to provide a safe and secure environment for its university community, one in which learning and fellowship can occur without distraction.
This report discusses the steps IIT takes to provide a safe and secure learning environment, including the crime prevention services of its Department of Public Safety as well as fire safety and emergency preparedness programs. It both sets forth guidance for how to avoid becoming the victim of a crime and details the process by which persons can report crimes or suspicious activity.
