Faculty Resources
Click on items below to see resources. The peer scholars at the Academic Resource Center are responsible for helping Illinois Institute of Technology students in undergraduate courses improve study skills and academic performance. They must participate in Tutor Education Seminars and monthly meetings to become better ARC scholars.
As a faculty member at Illinois Tech, you may be able provide important information, which may not be obtained from ARC scholar application. Please complete the Recommendation Form to help us get to know the applicant.
You can now include the following information in your syllabus to make them aware of Academic Resource Center and its services:
- The Academic Resource Center offers free peer tutoring, exam reviews, workshops, and computing and printing services for Illinois Tech students. For more information about different services, visit the ARC web site at www.iit.edu/arc.
Exam reviews are question-and-answer sessions with questions provided by the professor. If no exam review sheet is provided by the professor, the tutor prepares review questions from the book. The review sessions are typically scheduled in the evening from 6–8 p.m., ideally a day before the exam. Please request an exam review two weeks in advance to schedule a tutor. ARC will not schedule an exam review a week before final exams and during final exam week.
The Academic Resource Center schedules ARC Scholars to visit classrooms to introduce themselves and ARC resources to your course. Typically, a class visit requires two to three minutes of your lecture. The ARC scholar may distribute flyers with information about the ARC. The ARC scholar will visit in the beginning or at the end of the class. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Rama at rmadhura@iit.edu or call ext. 7-7980.
