Institute for Food Safety and Health Named Co-Recipient for Industry Award

For its demonstrated leadership in promoting and supporting the food industry in the Chicago area and the Midwest, the Illinois Tech Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) was honored with the 2018 Midwest Food Matters Leadership Award from the Global Midwest Alliance. Sharing in the award was the Flying Food Group, an airline catering company headed by Sue Ling Gin.

The award was presented at the fourth annual Midwest Food Matters Leadership Awards gala, held at the Hilton Chicago on November 13. The Global Midwest Alliance is a business-led, region-wide not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to transforming the Midwest into an internationally recognized leader in innovation and business growth. All of the net proceeds from the 2018 Global Midwest Alliance campaign will support key nonprofit business development initiatives that will help the food industry grow and thrive including the creation of the Sue Ling Gin Scholarship in Food Safety at IFSH. Past recipients of this award include Abbott Nutrition (2017), John B. Sanfilippo & Son (2016), and Griffith Foods Worldwide (2015).
