FE & PE Exam Preparation

Illinois Institute of Technology is a leader in preparing engineers for the future. Self-paced review courses, developed by Illinois Tech's accomplished engineering faculty, help learners prepare for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) exams. Through expert video instruction, worked examples, and focused coverage of key exam topics, participants gain the knowledge, strategies, and confidence needed to move closer to engineering licensure.

Prepare for the FE and PE Exams

Illinois Tech offers two exam review tracks with more than 35 self-paced modules designed to help engineers prepare for the NCEES FE and PE exams. Each module features video instruction led by Illinois Tech faculty, covering key concepts, theory, and worked practice problems commonly encountered on the exams. Course may be viewed as often as needed, giving learners the flexibility to study on their own schedule.

  • FE candidates typically complete 14–21 modules, depending on their discipline.
  • PE candidates typically complete 12–19 modules, depending on their discipline and exam requirements.

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Review

This self-paced online review course prepares engineering students and recent graduates for the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, specifically the Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Other Disciplines FE Exams. The course features Illinois Tech’s highly regarded engineering faculty reviewing problems and solutions commonly encountered on the FE exam in pre-recorded presentations. These videos and additional practice questions provide a comprehensive review experience including content the instructors have identified as essential for FE exam preparation.

Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam Review

This self-paced online review course helps practicing engineers prepare for the NCEES Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam. The course features Illinois Tech’s highly regarded engineering faculty in pre-recorded presentations reviewing problems and solutions that commonly appear on various PE exams, with content spanning Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Environmental PE Exams. Combined with additional practice questions, these videos deliver a targeted review experience, covering the instructor-selected concepts, methods, and applications most relevant to professional engineering licensure exams.
