Commuter students are a vital part of Illinois Tech’s student community. Whether you’re on campus one day or five days a week, we want to make sure you have the resources you need for your success.

The Commuter Lounge

The Commuter Lounge, located in the Hermann Hall BOG area is open during normal operating hours, is a space specifically available for our commuter students. Within the Commuter Lounge they are spaces that are available to study and have fun.

Hawk House

Commuter students, need a space on campus to stay for the night? Contact Hawk House:

Hawk House’s mission is to help: rest, engage, and serve Illinois Tech's commuter students through our on-campus dorm hotel. Our vision is to make Illinois Tech a “home away from home” for all students by cultivating a unified community. We promote overall wellness with a safe, clean space for students to do overnight stays. We operate as an engagement platform that will allow commuters to be immersed in campus life and culture. In addition, we learn from and get involved with our commuter student population. 

If you are interested in booking an overnight stay with Hawk House, please visit our website. Our rates run at $20/night and offer: fully made beds, towels & toiletries. We also have shared community spaces such as our lounge, stocked with games, and a communal kitchen!
