Student Staff

Career Services is proud to have several outstanding student staff positions which provide a host of services to the Illinois Tech community.

Student and Employer Engagement Leaders

Career Services at Illinois Tech provides Student & Employer Engagement Leader (SEEL) members to assist with day-to-day office operations, and support programs and initiatives of the Career Services department including but not limited to: general office management, Career Services events, Handshake management, employer engagement, and other office initiatives.

SEELs are availability Monday through Fridays 9 a.m.–5 p.m. in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC 106) near the Commons area.

Peer Career Coaches

The Peer Career Coach (PCC) program is comprised of a group of student leaders dedicated to serving their peers through the career development process, working alongside full-time staff in the Career Services office. PCC's are responsible for providing peers with résumé review and cover letter review, LinkedIn network building, Handshake assistance, and other professional advice through walk-in advising.

Drop In Hours: The PCC's conduct drop in hours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in person. Drop in sessions can be found in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC 106) near the Commons area.

Elevate Cohort Managers

The Elevate Cohort Manager oversees student cohort engagement and progression through the program while supervising a team of Student Success Coaches. The role involves 60% direct student support and program tracking, 20% staff supervision and training, and strategic planning to develop and scale the Elevate experience. Key responsibilities include facilitating professional development sessions, analyzing program data, marketing, cohort development and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across campus.

Student Success Coaches

Student Success Coaches work one-on-one with undergraduate students during the academic term to guide them through their Elevate and Career Preparedness Track Experience, helping them navigate program requirements and engage with career development milestones. They provide resume reviews, goal setting support, and assistance with Elevate topic areas while spending 70% of their time in direct student meetings providing mentorship. Coaches collaborate closely with Cohort Managers and Experiential Learning staff to ensure program efficiency and test best practices for student engagement.

Experiential Learning Student Assistants

Experiential Learning Student Assistants are the initial point of contact for all student questions regarding the Experiential Learning Program through drop-in office hours and appointments. Students who are documenting any off-campus work experience will work with our Experiential Learning staff for documentation, course registration and official processing. Career Services Marketing & Communications Specialist

The Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the Career Services team by creating and distributing engaging content to promote programs, services, and events. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, design, or social media strategy.
