Attention New Students: Update Your FERPA Choices
Update your choices regarding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and the release of your record by completing the FERPA Release of Educational Records form.
Contacting the Office of the Registrar
A representative from the Office of the Registrar is available to meet with you at the One Stop, which is located at the end of the MTCC bridge, next to the Commons.
Please email your requests or questions about your student records or registration to firstname.lastname@example.org. Students should use their hawk.iit.edu email address and provide their student number and full name when contacting the Office of the Registrar to ensure that FERPA-protected information is not compromised.
We require you to use the secured institutionally assigned IIT email address to perform transactions that affect your student record or information. We are able to provide a wider array of services to you when you use your IIT email address and it also keeps the university in compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights Privacy Act). When you use a non-IIT email address, we are limited to answering with general information.
Enrollment and Loan Verifications
Enrollment verifications are self-service through our secure website and may only be accessed by currently enrolled students.
IIT reports enrollment information for all students through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). Lenders download these reports from the Clearinghouse. If your lender does not download Clearinghouse reports, you can print your enrollment verification and mail it to your lender.
Clearinghouse reports are the national standard in enrollment reports to lenders. You can be assured that your enrollment will be reported every term in a timely manner.
To obtain your enrollment verification:
- Log into the myIIT portal.
- Click on the Academics tab.
- On the left-hand side, you will see a box (channel) named "Enrollment Verification." Click on the purple tree icon there and you will be directed to the Clearinghouse website.
- Now in the Clearinghouse student self-service site page, fill in the radio button for "All enrollment" and click on the "Obtain an enrollment certificate" option.
