Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar serves as the official data steward of institutional academic information and student records to support the needs of students, faculty, staff, and alumni at Illinois Institute of Technology. The office maintains accurate, timely, and secure information to support and enforce academic policy, registration, grading, enrollment and degree certification, course information, the production of diplomas and official transcripts, and other related university functions. Our knowledgeable and helpful staff are dedicated to providing courteous and professional service.
New IIT Alums: Diploma Pickup and Shipping Information
Congratulations on your achievement!
Diplomas for summer 2014 graduating students will be available for pickup from Monday, August 25–Friday, September 5, 2014, 9 a.m.–5 p.m at the One Stop located in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center in Room 106. You must present valid photo identification at the time of pickup.
If you are unable to pick up your diploma, you may request it be shipped to a preferred address at no charge by completing the Diploma Shipping Request form. The shipment of diplomas will begin on Thursday, September 11, 2014 and requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will provide you with the tracking or consignment number to your IIT email address once your diploma shipping request has been processed.
Note: This does not affect IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law students.
Fall Registration Is Underway!

New Students: Update Your FERPA Choices
Shimer College Cross-Registration and Course Information
IIT and Vandercook students interested in taking fall courses at Shimer College are invited to cross-register. For a full list of course descriptions and directions on how and when to register, please review the Shimer College Fall Class Offerings posting in IIT Today.
Enrollment and Degree Verifications
Enrollment verifications are self-service through our secure website and may only be accessed by currently enrolled students.
IIT reports enrollment information for all students through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). Lenders download these reports from the Clearinghouse. If your lender does not download Clearinghouse reports, you can print your enrollment verification and mail it to your lender.
Clearinghouse reports are the national standard in enrollment reports to lenders. You can be assured that your enrollment will be reported every term in a timely manner.
To obtain your enrollment verification:
- Log into the myIIT portal.
- Click on the Academics tab.
- On the left-hand side, you will see a channel/box named "Enrollment Verification." Click on the purple tree icon there and you will be directed to the Clearinghouse website.
- Now in the Clearinghouse student self-service site page, fill in the radio button for "All enrollment" and click on the "Obtain an enrollment certificate" option.

A representative at the One Stop located in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center in Room 106 is available to meet with you in person and answer any questions.
Please email requests or questions about your student records or registration to email@example.com. Students should use their institutionally assigned IIT email (hawk.iit.edu) account and provide their student number and full name when contacting the Office of the Registrar to ensure that FERPA-protected information is not compromised. When you use a non-IIT email address, we are limited to answering with general information.
