Office of the Provost announces new course evaluation system
Feedback the university receives from students at the end of each semester via the course evaluation process plays a key role in decisions about classes offered and instructional methods used at IIT. Over the past several years, there has been a steady decrease in the number of course evaluations being submitted. To make it easier for students to provide their feedback, a new evaluation tool has been developed to simplify the process.
The new evaluation contains only two questions and a section for comments, and will be available to students via a new channel called "Course Evaluation" under the "Academics tab" in the myIIT portal. Between November 9 and 27, 2009, students can use the new channel to evaluate the courses they are taking this fall. To ensure integrity in the evaluation process, students' identities remain anonymous to instructors and administrators, but the system invisibly traces individual participation.
Your opinion is important to the success of this evaluation process and to IIT.
When November 9 rolls around, please take a few minutes to complete evaluations for your classes.
Thank you for your participation!
