The University Faculty Council (UFC) has jurisdiction over such university matters as academic freedom and tenure, faculty governance, financial affairs, computing services, undergraduate and graduate admissions, library matters, sabbatical leaves, student affairs, student academic grievances, graduate and undergraduate studies, nominations and elections related to faculty governance activities, and coordination of academic programs.
The UFC consists of 25 regular voting members of the faculty. Council activities range from the oversight of academic integrity to the selection of the provost to the evaluation and approval of new academic programs prior to president and Board of Trustees approval.
