Pritzker Fellowship Program

Announcing New Pritzker Institute Doctoral Fellowship Program

The Pritzker Institute is pleased to announce a major revision of the Pritzker Fellowship Program, for PhD students enrolling at Illinois Tech for the fall 2026 semester.

In this newly structured fellowship program, three-year tuition and stipend fellowship awards will be made to highly qualified new doctoral students who are pursuing doctoral studies and research in biomedical science or engineering, and are being mentored by Pritzker Institute-affiliated faculty members at Illinois Tech.

The Pritzker Institute plans to award up to five fully-funded three-year fellowships. The award process will be highly competitive. These fellowships are restricted to new incoming doctoral candidates who enter an Illinois Tech Ph.D. program in the fall 2026 semester.

Promotion material will be distributed nationwide by the start of the fall 2025 semester. We urge faculty members to start recruiting new highly qualified Ph.D. students immediately.

A tentative timetable for key events of this new fellowship program is:

  1. Applications open: October 1, 2025
  2. Deadline for candidate fellows to submit application: open
  3. Candidate interviews: To be determined based on application submission date; starts on March 15, 2026, for applications received by January 15, 2026
