Graduate Student Visit and Tours

Illinois Tech’s graduate visit opportunities allow you to become acquainted with the university, our facilities, and the faculty in your prospective department, in addition to our Career Services team. Our attendees consistently emphasize the value of these visits, and we trust that you also will find them informative.

Our counselors also visit colleges and universities throughout the country, providing you an opportunity to learn more about the admissions process in your area.

Individual Weekday Visits

Weekday visits allow you to meet with an admissions recruiter or to speak with someone from your academic department of interest, whether it be faculty or knowledgeable staff. These are not interviews and are not required as part of the admissions process, although they may be extremely beneficial to you as you research and choose among potential graduate schools.

Our undergraduate student ambassadors lead tours of campus, which include various academic buildings, residence halls, and The McCormick Tribune Campus Center. Walking tours last approximately 75 minutes.

Weeknight Evening Visits

Evening visits are available Monday through Friday from 5–7 p.m. at our Mies Campus (10 West 33rd Street) and Downtown Campus  (565 West Adams Street). To schedule an appointment, email with the date(s) and time(s) you are available along with your program of interest and the campus on which you would like to meet.

Evening visits require two weeks advance notice and are generally scheduled in 30-minute increments.

Chicago-Kent College of Law Visits

Illinois Tech’s Chicago-Kent College of Law offers prospective students several visit opportunities, including open houses, class visits, and more. Learn more about visiting Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Discover Illinois Tech Graduate Day

At Discover Illinois Tech Day, you’ll hear from faculty about your program of interest, learn more about the admission and financial aid process, explore our historic campus and surrounding neighborhoods, and network with current and prospective students. Admitted students also will meet individually with a faculty member from their program to discuss more in-depth questions. Overnight accommodations are available on campus for students who are from outside the Chicago area.

Be sure to visit our open house event in spring 2020.
