Illinois Tech uses Blackboard as its course management system. Students log into Blackboard through the myIIT portal. Most courses utilize Blackboard to display course content and information such as the course syllabus, to manage assignments, and to collaborate online. For more information about using Blackboard Learn, visit the Student Help for Getting Started and Staying in the Loop sections of the Blackboard website.
Illinois Tech encourages faculty to hold live, online sessions that keep to the same schedule as your face-to-face course. Online sessions are expected to be held primarily via Collaborate Ultra, a web conferencing tool available in your Blackboard course that provides resources that allow you to talk with your instructor, share information, and supports collaboration.

Technical Requirements
- Collaborate Ultra requires a modern web browser with WebRTC support
- Collaborate Ultra requires certain permissions to function as desired. For example, Collaborate Ultra needs permission to access your camera and microphone so you can use audio and video. Give Collaborate Ultra permission when asked, and/or set up permissions in browser preferences
- Collaborate Ultra doesn't require or use plug-ins
- For more information, support can be found on the Blackboard website
