Date of Update 1/1/2020

Illinois Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as “the university”) provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and job applicants – full-time, part-time and temporary; faculty, staff and student-workers – without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, marital status, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, genetic information or any other status protected by applicable federal, state and local law. To this end, the university prohibits and will act to eliminate (i) discrimination and (ii) harassment, meaning unwelcomed conduct that has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment, which is predicated on any such actual or perceived basis. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including, but not limited to, hiring, recruitment, advertising for employment, placement, promotion, demotion, termination, layoff, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, benefits and training. It is the policy of the university to comply with the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended. Furthermore, reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities. The written form/documentation to request such an accommodation may be found here. (See also the policy on the Americans with Disabilities Act, which is set forth in the Employment Practices section of this Handbook.)
